Spatial Modelling Lab @ IASC World Commons Week 2020
We recently contributed to the Early Career Network Meeting of the International Association for the Study of the Commons (IASC) as a part of the IASC World Commons Week 2020, held on 5 and 6 October. The annual event is a self-organised collaborative effort the main goal of which is to bring together those interested in research on sustainable governance of resource systems with more experienced scholars and practitioners in the field of governing the commons. The event featured a welcome address given by Prof. Insa Theesfeld, who from January 2021 onward will take over the presidency of the International Association for the Study of the Commons, and a Keynote Speech by Prof. Harini Nagendra from the Azim Premji University, where she leads the Centre for Climate Change and Sustainability. Sixteen World Cafe Sessions were held as a part of the digital conversation strategy hosted by PhD students and postdoctoral researchers from around the world. Among these sessions, our team member Víctor Cobs Muñoz chaired a discussion on "Social Justice and Ecosystem Services", primarily focussing on the social production of ecosystem services, environmental justice issues associated with them, and a new social contract towards natural heritage.
