Presentation session at DGPF Annual Meeting

Geoinformatics is a diverse field with very different branches. Methods from this field are no exception and can range from remote sensing to empirical social research. Together with Dr Franz-Benjamin Mocnik (University of Twente), we recently organised a presentation session featuring a wide range of topics at the Annual Meeting of the DGPF. The German Society for Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing, and Geoinformation (DGPF) is the world's longest established professional and learned society in the fields of photogrammetry and geoinformation. Our contribution was part of the co-leadership of Jun.-Prof. Dr. René Westerholt of the Methods Working Group of the DGPF.

The bilingual programme of our session comprised five talks delivered by both domestic and international speakers:

  • Christina Ludwig (Heidelberg University): Regionale Unterschiede kontext-basierter Assoziationsregeln in OpenStreetMap
  • Ekaterina Egorova (University of Twente): Leveraging volunteered geographic information and citizen science into the study of cultural ecosystem services
  • Jan Kinne (ZEW Leibniz-Centre for European Economic Research and istari.ai): Webbasierte Innovationsindikatoren für mikrogeographische Analysen
  • Jenny Janssen (University of Twente): An Empiric Evaluation of the Affordances of Panorama Maps and Planimetric Maps in the Context of Alpine Ski Areas
  • Tessio Novack (University of Warwick): An Investigation of the Temporality of OpenStreetMap Contribution Activities
