The departments Spatial Transformation in the Digital Age (RTD) and Spatial Modelling (RAM) both focus strongly on the topic of digitalisation. Both departments, however, have different objectives and approaches, which, when combined, can lead to interesting interdisciplinary synergies. In order to better exploit these synergies in the future, RTD and RAM have conducted a first joint research workshop. After short introductions by the heads of the respective departments Jun.-Prof. Dr Meike Levin-Keitel and Jun.-Prof. Dr René Westerholt, all team members first presented their projects and research ideas in the form of short presentations. On this basis, the workshop proceeded to the main part, which took place in the form of speed dating to identify overlaps in terms of content and methodology. In this way, not only apparent but also less visible and thus surprising potentials for possible future collaboration were revealed. The workshop is not intended to remain a one-off event and will be continued in the future with further formats of a similar nature in order to expand and strengthen collaborations and exchanges between RTD and RAM.
