The Spatial Modelling Lab participated in the 2025 Summer School of Sustainability, contributing to its interdisciplinary program through lectures, coordination, and collaborative teaching formats. The event brought together students from TU Dortmund, Ruhr University Bochum, and the University of Duisburg-Essen to explore sustainability frameworks and decision-making tools.

Our Lab was once again involved in the TU Dortmund Summer School of Sustainability, which took place from September 8 to 12, 2025. Organized in collaboration with the Sustainability Office, the Group of Clinical and Biological Psychology, and for the first time, colleagues from Ruhr University Bochum and University of Duisburg-Essen, the program brought together 22 students from across the UA Ruhr alliance.

Lab member Víctor Cobs-Muñoz, who—together with the teaching team of last year’s edition—received the 2024 TU Dortmund Teaching Award, participated in the organization, moderation, and contributed lectures that connected sustainability frameworks, such as the SDGs and IPCC reports, with spatial and governance perspectives. Students engaged in group work, critical reflection, and the simulation game Sustain2030, deepening their understanding of sustainability challenges and decision-making processes.

The Spatial Modelling Lab is proud to support interdisciplinary teaching formats that promote systems thinking and collaborative learning across departments and partner universities.
