In March, the German Society for Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Geoinformation (DGPF) appointed Jun.-Prof. Dr René Westerholt as one of the new heads of the working group 'Geoinformatics: Methodology'. He will lead the working group together with Asst.-Prof. Dr. Franz-Benjamin Mocnik from the University of Twente, Netherlands. The working group serves to promote methodological research in geoinformatics in the German-speaking world. It networks both researchers and professionals, and organises, together with the German Geodetic Commission, an annual colloquium for doctoral students. The previous heads were Prof. Dr Jan-Henrik Haunert (University of Bonn) and Prof. Dr Bernhard Höfle (Heidelberg University).
