International Society for Spatial Methods was launched

The International Society for Spatial Methods (ISSM) aims to promote international co-operation and progress in the theorisation and application of spatial methods. The Society's main objectives and activities include facilitating collaboration between researchers who develop and use spatial methods in their work, holding workshops to promote knowledge of spatial methods and in-depth exchange, promoting the professional development of spatial methods researchers, and collaborating with other organisations such as learned societies, research laboratories, and journals that share an interest in spatial methods. By promoting interdisciplinary co-operation, the Society aims to advance the application of spatial methods in various fields. The first executive committee meeting took place on 27 August. A total of 15 researchers from 12 countries are initially involved on the board and in the establishment of the International Society for Spatial Methods. We are delighted to be able to support and accompany this important and much-needed initiative from the outset!
