René Westerholt joins the editorial board of Geographical Analysis

Geographical Analysis was founded in 1969 as a platform for quantitative and formal geographical research. This came about as a consequence of what is known as the ‘quantitative revolution’, during which mathematically oriented geographers often found it difficult to publish their work in the then established journals. Geographical Analysis thus plays an important role in the history of the fields we now group under umbrella terms such as GIScience, GIS, spatial analysis, geoinformatics or, more broadly, quantitative geography. We are therefore delighted that René Westerholt has been appointed to the journal’s editorial board. This recognises his many years of service as a reviewer for the journal, a role he will continue to fulfil to a high standard in the years to come.
